The Problem
The Design Lab was approached by the the Centre for Automotive Research (CAR) to design a series of promotional banners.
The goal of this project was to design a series of banners that help promote awareness and generate research investments in CAR. As well, our target audience was SME automotive industry professionals - to help generate research investment in CAR.
Rationale
The visual language for the materials is drawn from the triangular windows of Lassonde's Bergeron Centre and CAR's research equipment.
The primary research directives of CAR are 'Innovation & Engineering' and 'Research & Development', thus we created two sets of banners that would promote CAR's brand within the automotive industry and provide wayfinding and signage for events put on by CAR. Additionally, the banners are designed to function as sets of 2 or 4. As well, CAR had an established corporate identity that needed to be followed.
Copy Design
The Design Lab generated the slogans for the banners collaboratively.
Our focus on the ability for CAR to 'drive' the industry forward led our slogan creation.
Final Banners

Style Guide
CAR has an already established logo, colour pallette, and font system.
The project needed to be produced within the established corporate identity for CAR. Additionally, the client requested that the work look very similar to their current banners.

Concept
We also designed an event flyer.
As CAR does primarily face-to-face and email marketing, they did not end up using the design.
